The Place Beyond the Pines

When I went to go see this movie and I checked in on FourSquare, the handy little app notified me that the last time I checked in at a movie theatre was 2 months ago and that I checked into Gangster Squad. So, basically, what I'm saying is I only spend money to go to the movies if I'm seeing a Ryan Gosling film, which is going to be sad since he's taking a break... I just can't even get into that whole thing right now.

This movie was amazing and tense and thought-provoking and just fantastic and not just because Ryan Gosling was in it and I'm a wee bit bias with him. It was just really good and NOTHING like what I was expecting, which was very refreshing. I hate going into a movie expecting something and getting exactly what I expected. I like to be surprised... sometimes. :)

So, with the movie, we open up to abs. His abs.

Oh, I'm sorry. Where was I? Oh, yeah, the opening of the film...

As the camera pans out and Ryan Gosling's character starts walking, we switch from his abs to his back covered in tattoos. We get a good 3-4 minutes of just his back...

Wow. Ok, so I appear to be distracted by the imagery from the first 10 minutes of this fantastic film, so I'll just go ahead and tell you that the film really was beautiful and if you're considering going to see it, I recommend that you just do it.
